| | Born in Little River (Mendocino), CA on April 12, 1866. Coombs was a graduate of Mills College (Oakland) and a lifelong resident of Little River. Her trips to the San Francisco Bay area were made by lumber schooners. Working in oil, she painted landscapes, flowers, and china which she signed SVC.
