This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| "Mrs. Theresa Corlette has located a studio in the Windsor Hotel. During a long residence in San Francisco this lady attained considerable of a literary reputation under the nom de plume of "Silver Pen;" of late years she has devoted her versatile attention to decorative work, and with large success. Her wax flowers come nearer reflecting the colors of nature and their aroma of any that have been displayed in this city, and every leaf has a distinct character that even a botanist would admire. Mrs. Corlette has a process for duplication of pottery of the style of Florentine and Limoges, and painting in glazes that need no firing. Her Venetian decoration has met with the hearty commendation of such architects as Behman, Cobb & Frost, Burnham & Root, and is certainly as artistic as it is effective and enduring."
Chicago Inter Ocean, June 18,1886, p.8
