The following information was submitted in March of 2006 by Jennifer Potts, Curator, Braintree Historical Society:
Theron Irving Cain was born in Braintree, MA on December 16, 1893, the youngest son of Daniel and Ellen (Besse) Cain. He graduated from Braintree High School (1912) and the Massachusetts Normal Art School (now Massachusetts College of Art) in Boston (1916) before going to work for landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead. He later returned to Braintree and became an art teacher at the Massachusetts College of Art (1921-1957). He died in Needham, MA in 1988.
