| Virginia Cleveland was born in Minnesota on Aug. 23, 1915. Cleveland moved to Oakland in the late 1920s. After graduating from Oakland High School, she earned her B.A. degree from the California College of Arts and Crafts. She later taught art at San Leandro Adult School for many years. She wed Robert Trautner in 1944 and settled nearby in San Lorenzo. She died there on Nov. 18, 1989.
