The following, submitted December 2005, is from the artist.

Wade Chandler was born in Amory, Mississippi December 24, 1952.

He joined the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a radar technician from 1972-76.  While in the service, he was stationed in West Berlin, Germany, where his first exposure to major art museums occurred.  After leaving the service, he attended art school at the University of West Florida, in Pensacola, Florida, and followed that with graduate work at the University of South Florida, in Tampa, Florida, graduating with an MFA in Painting in 1981.

In 1986 he received a fellowship to the Glassell School of Art, in Houston Texas, and was a "CORE Fellow" there from 1986-88.  While there, he taught painting and drawing from 1986- 1994.  While in Houston, he helped start a publication on art in Texas titled Art Lies, first publishing in 1994.  Also while in Houston his work was acquired by Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and is part of it's permanent collection.

In 1994, Wade moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he continues to make and exhibit his paintings, drawings and prints.
