| Willard Cooper was born in Denison, Texas in 1921. Painter, etcher and student of Don Brown and Thomas Stell, Cooper may be considered one of the last of the Texas Regionalists. He received his B.A. in Art from Centenary College of Louisiana in 1947, and MFA from the Escuela Universitaria de Bellas Artes in Mexico in 1949. He served as head of the Art Department of Columbia College, South Carolina from 1949 to 1958. In 1958, he returned to Centenary College to assume the chairmanship of the Art (showing 500 of 1303 characters). |
