William Carpenter is a portrait painter, who began working in watercolor and then added oil to his repertoire.  His inspiration are portrait masters as Gilbert Stuart, John Singer Sargeant, and Charles Reid.  Bill is a participating member of the Eastern Shore of Virginia Art League as well as the Art League of Ocean City and has received awards in their juried shows.  His paintings have been accepted and displayed in the annual juried exhibition of the Virginia Watercolor Society.
