| Abstract painter William Conger grew up in Chicago, Illinois and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of New Mexico. There he worked closely with abstract painters Raymond Jonson and Elaine de Kooning. He returned to Chicago for post-graduate study (Master of Fine Arts, University of Chicago, 1966) and has been showing his paintings in group and solo exhibitions for c. fifty years. He taught at college art programs since 1971 and is Professor Emeritus at (showing 500 of 12073 characters). |
