| | Born in Tuscarawas County, OH on Nov. 21, 1850. Demuth worked in Oberlin, OH in the 1870s and visited England from 1876 to 1879. He had a studio in Cleveland until moving to San Francisco about 1890 where he remained until his demise on Aug. 24, 1904. His rare portraits are done in India ink and crayon. | Source:
