A portrait and genre painter, he is the son of Carl Friedrich Demiani. Born in Dresden in 1801, he worked in Leipzig and moved to Hamburg later in life, where he died sometime after 1850. Demiani studied at the art academy in Dresden with Ferdinand Hartmann.
