| | Born in Brussels, Belgium on Sept. 15, 1865. DeMey studied with Le Trapper and Von Hamme in Brussels, with Roeloff in Holland , and with Gudin in Paris. He settled in Los Angeles in 1914. A physician, his travels took him to many parts of the world (India, Philippines, China, Africa) where he painted seascapes in his leisure.
