| Born in Eureka, CA on March 15, 1859. Clara was the wife of Henry Deering and a lifelong resident of Eureka. Her depiction of Fort Humboldt is in Genocide & Vendetta: The Round Valley Wars of Northern California (Univ. of Oklahoma Press, 1981). She died in Eureka on March 25, 1907.
