| | Born in Berthen, France on June 9, 1846. Delbey served in the Franco-Prussian War of 1871. He came to the U.S. in 1905 and was a resident of San Francisco by 1912. By the early 1920s he had settled in Santa Barbara where he remained until his demise on June 18, 1934. | Source:
