| Born in St Louis, Missouri on June 17, 1907, Dionysius graduated from the St Louis School of Fine Arts in 1925. While a resident of Los Angeles in 1930-40, he worked in the art department of Disney Studios, and was the author-illustrator of Black Opal and Mother Goose Rhymes. His subject matter was mostly taken from mythology and fairy tales.
He was a resident of Kirkwood, Missouri until his demise on Oct. 12, 1996.
