| Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 9, 1903, after moving to
Los Angeles, Dorothy Dowiatt studied at Otis, Chouinard, and Stickley
art schools, and with Hans Hofmann, Edouard Vysekal, Edwin R. Shrader,
and Arthur Millier.
Her portraits and still lifes won many awards in southern California shows.
Dowiatt died in Tuolumne County, CA on Oct. 7, 1976.
