| Born in Washington DC, Dorsey Doniphan lived there during his art career as a painter, illustrator, and teacher. He conducted an art school from his studio for several years and participated in the Public Works Art Project during the Depression.
He studied at the Corcoran School of Art and the Boston Museum Fine Art School, where he was a student of Edmund Tarbell. His work is at the Historical Society of Washington DC and the US Navy Department. |
