| A painter working in a variety of subjects and media, Eleanor DeHaas was born in San Francisco and spent most of her life in the East Bay, except for the WWII years, when she was a new mother and lived in Eureka, California. She studied at the California College of Arts and Crafts and at University of California, Berkeley, and with William Rice, Perham Nahl, Maurice Logan, and Louis Miljarak.
She exhibited in state and local exhibits, taught and demonstrated art, and served on exhibition juries. She was married to artist Al Brooks.
