After graduating from Bishop School for Girls in La Jolla in 1921, she studied art and dance in France. On the ship back she met Jim Donlon with whom she eloped. During the next 70 years she lived in Pasadena and San Marino and was active in their art scenes. Her painting partners included Sam Hyde Harris, Rex Brandt, and Dong Kingman.
