This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Active in New Orleans in the late 19th century, Emile Dantonet studied and exhibited at the Southern Art Union and was a member of the Artists' Association of New Orleans. It is likely he was an amateur artist as he was listed in the city directory as a clerk (1884-1993), bookkeeper (1894-1902), and later as an employee with the Louisiana Red Cypress Company from 1908 to 1931.
