| | Born in Alsace-Lorraine on Nov. 28, 1860. Donze came to the U.S. in 1875. He was an engraver in Canton, OH before moving to California in 1890. While in Fresno, he engraved casket lids for Hall Bros and postage stamps before moving to Santa Barbara in 1895.
