| Born in Port Byron, NY on Sept. 8, 1861. Duvall studied in NYC at the ASL, Cooper Union and with Wm Sartain. She was active as an art teacher in Syracuse before moving to Los Angeles in 1888. Working in oil, watercolor and pastel, from her studio in the Arroyo Seco came portraits, landscapes, and floral still lifes. After 1900 she made Paris her second home and studied there with Whistler and at the Grande Chaumière. Duvall died in Los Angeles on Nov. 3, 1934. Member: Calif.
