| Fred G. Dowane was born in California in May 1861. Dowane was a resident of Wheatland, CA in in the 1880s and Bear River, Yuba County in 1900. By 1920 he was confined to the Stockton State Hospital for the Insane. He died there on Aug. 14, 1924.
