Biography from Wendt Gallery:
| Please note: Artists not classified as American in our database may have limited biographical data
compared to the extensive information about American artists.
Born in Hampshire, England in 1947 Geoffrey Dashwood has spent his working life in the New Forest. He was the first living artist to be accorded a retrospective exhibition at Nature in Art, Gloucestershire, in 1991.
Dashwood’s sculpture shows his intimate knowledge of wildlife; his graphics have clean lines that describe the form with an occasional accent of feather, claw or beak together summing up a bird species. His economical sculptural language treads the thin line between abstraction and realism to produce images which truly express the essence of a bird. |
