George Davidson was born in Butka Poland on May 10, 1889. His family immigrated to the United States. They settled in Waterbury Connecticut. This area attracted many immigrants from diverse nations. As a student in the public schools he showed artistic promise. When he advanced to the upper grades he was encouraged by the highly esteemed local art teacher Mrs. Steel.
