| | Born in Shickley, NE on May 31, 1897. DeBeeson was raised on a farm where he and his brother built one of the first airplanes. A renaissance man and self-taught artist, he was also an inventor, aviator, and violin maker. Later in life, he was an animator for Disney, Walter Lanz, and Universal Studios. He died in Los Angeles on Feb. 23, 1965. | Source:
