George Dick was a wildlife and Western painter and sculptor, sometimes painting in an Impressionist style. Often, he strove to subdue or eliminate the backgrounds of his work. His favorite subjects included cow ponies, quarter horses, racehorses, game, and wild fowl.
Dick graduated from Wentworth Military Academy, and in 1939 earned a degree in forestry from the University of Michigan. He then joined the US Wildlife Service, and traveled around the West with a falcon named Margaret. After (showing 500 of 917 characters). |
