An illustrator, painter and etcher* who lived in New York City and Boston, Georgina Davis was primarily known as an illustrator. She produced covers and illustrations for McLoughlin Bros., publishers of childrens' books.
Davis worked for Aldine, Frank Leslie's Illustrated Weekly*, and the Salvation Army's War Cry; and as a friend of Mrs. Leslie, was part of Leslie's famous Pullman car railroad tour of twelve persons from New York City to the West Coast in 1877.& (showing 500 of 1774 characters). |
