She received an art scholarship to the San Diego Art Academy in 1925. She studied under Ed Northridge, Alfred Mitchell, and Everett Jackson. Dowd was a long time member of the San Diego Art Guild and La Jolla Art Association. She exhibited at the Los Angeles County Fair, La Jolla Art Museum, and throughout Southern (showing 500 of 767 characters). |
