| | Born in California on Nov. 1, 1889. Raised in San Francisco, Ida began painting without the aid of instruction. Upon moving to southern California, she settled in Balboa and studied with Rex Brandt. She joined the Newport Beach Ebell Club in 1913 and served as president of the club for three terms.
