Born 1959 in Krasnodar, in the south of Russia, he graduated in 1982 from the University of Krasnodar with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Darr served in the Soviet Army from 1982 to 1984, and continued his education at the Academie of Arts in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Igor Darr participated in numerous national and international exhibitions. He became a member of Russian Union of Artist and was awarded a first prize three times in a row at the regional competition of artist of southern Russia.
Igor Darr faced lots of difficulties with his works as the political situation in his country kept him from realizing many projects. In 1994, he immigrated to Canada, and his paintings can be found in galleries in Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, and St.Sauveur.
Igor Darr’s paintings have been listed in the World Art Sales Index for 1998-99.
