Jacobus Doeser was a self-taught Dutch artist whose southeast Asian art career developed independently of the modern art movements.
He was best known for his large paintings of floral arrangements.
Doeser painted with an impressionistic, almost luminescent style which later helped his art to evolve with more of an expressionistic and abstract focus.
