Family moved to Joplin, MO, to Pratt, and in 1944 to Wichita. Earned a BFA in 1959 and a MFA in 1962 from the Univ. of Wichita. He, along with five friends, founded the Bottega Gallery in Wichita contributing to the Beat Generation enclave. Traveled in Mexico and the southwest painting between 1962-67. Taught at the Univ. of Missouri in 1967 and at the Univ. of Arizona beginning in 1969. He retired from teaching in 1993 to concentrate on his painting. < (showing 500 of 1243 characters). |
