This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born near Barcelona, Spain on Dec. 15, 1890.  Drudis graduated from the School of Fine Arts at Barcelona University.  He appears to have come southern California about 1926.   Having married into one of the state's earliest families, he lived on ranches in Paso Robles and Sierra Madre while maintaining a studio in the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles.  In 1933 he became a citizen of the U.S.  Locally, he taught art, lectured, and served as a museum associate of the LACMA and director of the California Art Club.  Drudis died in Los Angeles on Oct. 13, 1985.  An Impressionist, his subjects include coastals, landscapes, missions, still lifes, and portraits. 

Exh:  Madrid, 1918 (solo); Ralston Gallery (NYC), 1927 (solo); Santa Barbara Art League, 1929 (solo); UC Westwood, 1930 (solo); LACMA, 1931 (solo); Whittier AA, 1955 (solo); Calif. Art Club, 1955 (gold medal); Dalzell Hatfield Gallery (LA), 1958 (retrospective).
