Josef Dobrowsky (Karlsbad, Bohemia 1889- Tullnerbach-Vienna, 1964) was
a portrait, landscape and genre painter prominently known for his
watercolors. His style was very expressive and he mostly used
vivid colors.
He began his art studies at the "Kunstgewerbeschule" (Vienna College of
Arts and Crafts), and from 1906 to 1919, studied at the Vienna Academy
of Fine Arts under Christian Griepenkerl and Rudolf Bacher. In
1919, Josef Dobrowsky joined the Vienna Secession.& (showing 500 of 1309 characters). |
