| Born in San Antonio, TX on July 15, 1906. After earning a degree in liberal arts at Columbia University, Danysh further studied at Northwestern University in Chicago. He came to San Francisco in 1932 and joined the staff of the Argonaut as art and music critic. In that year he established a modern art-photography gallery in San Francisco with Ansel Adams. In 1935 he was appointed director of the Works Progress Administration Art Project for the western states. At the end of this project he (showing 500 of 956 characters). |
