| Canadian born, Lindy Duncan has spent the greater part of her life in
the California Bay Area. Her home is in Aromas near the Monterey
coastline. Duncan has been drawing and painting since childhood.
Traditional introduction to plein-air painting was provided by the
Academy of Plein Air Painters. Inspirational and educational to her is
the study of old California and Russian painters as well as the work of
many contemporary artists.
She is a Juried Artist Member of the
California Art Club, a Signature Member of Alla Prima International and
a signature member of En Couleur, a group of six California colorists.
She is also an artist member of Oil Painters of America and of Laguna
Plein Airs Painters' Association.
Recently she won an
Honorable Mention at the San Juan Capistrano Plein Air Event, a First
Place Oils in the 2000 Draft Horse Classic in Grass Valley, CA and a
First Place Oils in the Best & Brightest show 2001, Scottsdale
Artist School, Scottsdale, AZ as well as three awards in Plein Air
Tucson 2001 - Best Color Award, Best Patterns & Texture and Judges'
Favorite Award!
