| Born in Los Angeles, CA Sept. 10, 1906. Donovan began her art training at age ten under the tutelage of Ella Shepard Bush. She earned her bachelor of fine arts from UCLA and master’s degree from UC Berkeley. She worked in Hollywood as a costume designer for Edith Head, and later taught design at the Pratt Institute in NYC and at southern California junior colleges. In 1949 she settled on the Monterey Peninsula. Her married name was Beebe at the time of her death in Carmel on Sept. 7, 2003. Member: Salmagundi Club; Carmel AA; Nat’l WC Society.
