Lois Coleman Denton is known as a painter of oils and pastels specializing in still-life painting and landscapes. In addition to her painting skills, Denton spent many years teaching fine art.
Denton was born in Clay County, Texas in 1887. Following graduation from high school, Denton taught art in the Henrietta Public Schools. She married in 1909 and moved to El Paso in 1913 where she taught in the public schools for forty years.
