Born on Jan. 5, 1868 in Remington, IN.  Lurah wed J. Edwin Davis in 1889.  Upon settling in Los Angeles in 1913, she served as art chairman of the Ebell Club (1926) and for 21 years taught at Polytechnic High School and other public schools in the county.  Mrs. Davis died in Los Angeles on Aug. 10, 1963.
