Mabel E. Davis, known for landscapes, still lifes, and portraits, spent most of her life in New Bedford, MA, including a career of instructing at the Swain Free School of Design for twenty-five years. She had her formal training at the Massachusetts Normal Art School in Boston, with Charles Woodbury in Ogunquit, ME and in Provincetown with Charles Hawthorne.
She exhibited at various art clubs in New Bedford during her career including New Bedford Art Club, New Bedford Free Library; Swain (showing 500 of 788 characters). |
