| | Born in Oklahoma on Dec. 21, 1888. Mabel wed Albert Downard in 1911. The couple moved from Severy, KS to San Diego in 1923. Mrs. Downard began with pastels, progressed to watercolors and finally to oils. She remained in San Diego until her demise on Sept. 11, 1971. At the time of her death her married name was Evans.
