| | Born in Manchester, IA on Jan. 18, 1868. Mae Harrison was living in a mining camp in Oklahoma in 1888 when she married a gold miner. Traveling about the Southwest in a covered wagon, the couple lived in Colorado for a few years. A self-taught artist, she began painting about 1904.
