| | Born in San Rafael, CA on Oct. 12, 1884. While studying at the Mark Hopkins Institute, Martha Sale met Albert DeRome whom she married in 1909. During this period her forte was painting china; however, by 1914 she had set aside her art career to raise her family. In the 1950s she resumed painting floral still lifes. Mrs. DeRome died in San Jose, CA on Sept. 19, 1984. | Source:
