Born in Philipsburg, MT on Feb. 25, 1900. Degenhart studied at the University of Montana, Columbia University (M.A.), UC Berkeley, University of Oregon, University of New Mexico and with Walter Ufer in Taos. She taught art at Arcata (CA) High School from 1928 until retirement in 1965. A spinster, she died in Arcata on Aug. 4, 1996. Her work includes oils and watercolors of sporting scenes, mining towns, and landscapes.
