| | Born in Pennsylvania on Nov. 21, 1896. Dilley settled in San Francisco in 1908. Following graduation from UC Berkeley, he married Grace Stearns and settled into a studio-home at 535 Sacramento Street. For fifty years he was active locally both as a commercial artist and puppeteer. Upon retirement, he moved across the bay to Berkeley where he remained until his demise on April 19, 1968. | Source:
