| Born in Brittany, France in 1854, DeQuelin worked in NYC with John LaFarge for several years. He was a resident of Los Angeles in 1907-10. He then went to Japan for a few years where he won the Imperial gold medal in watercolor. Returning to NYC, he was head artist at Tiffany Studios for ten years and lectured at Carnegie Institute before his death there on March 22, 1932.
