Ruth P. De Jong (1891 - 1933)
Born in Mapleton, South Dakota, Ruth De Jong and her family later relocated to St. Paul, Minnesota, where she attended Central High School. She later attended North Dakota Agricultural College (now known as North Dakota State University) and the St. Paul School of Fine Arts*. After marrying, De Jong became a student at the Minneapolis School of Fine Arts* (1930-1932) and took courses in wood engraving* and still life painting.
