| | Born in Belgium on July 9, 1888. DeVriendt came from a long line of artists that dated back to 1435. He studied at Royal Academy of Antwerp and in Brussels at Ecole des Arts Décoratifs before arriving in Los Angeles in 1923. During the 1930s he sculpted a fountain for the McKinley School in Santa Monica for the Federal Art Project. He died in Connecticut in November 1966. Exh: Sculptors Guild of So.
