This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Odell, IL on Sept. 6, 1873. Dando began painting as a child and taught art in Newell, IA. Upon moving to southern California in 1903, she settled in Venice. While earning a degree at USC, she studied privately with William Lees Judson and Paul DeLongpré. Nearly 30 years were spent as an art instructor at Westminster Elementary School and Venice High School. A spinster, Dando died in Santa Monica, CA on April 29, 1934. Her work includes floral still lifes. Exh: Painters Club (LA), 1909; Kanst Gallery (LA), 1909; Calif. Art Club, 1914-25; Panama-Calif. Expo (San Diego), 1915 (silver medal); SFAA, 1918-19; LACMA, 1921; Venice High School, 1923; Laguna Beach AA, 1924.
