| Born in Odell, IL on Sept. 6, 1873. Dando began painting as a child and taught art in Newell, IA. Upon moving to southern California in 1903, she settled in Venice. While earning a degree at USC, she studied privately with William Lees Judson and Paul DeLongpré. Nearly 30 years were spent as an art instructor at Westminster Elementary School and Venice High School. A spinster, Dando died in Santa Monica, CA on April 29, 1934.
