Living near his studio and gallery with his wife, Ophelia Garcia, a noted jeweler, and their two children, Tawny and Terrance, he also devotes time and effort to the Chinle Youth Athletic Club. This drug and alcohol awareness group provides supervised athletic competitions as an alternative to substance abuse.
Draper continues to coach the Chinle Rattlers and Arizona Bluebirds 12/under Boys & Girls Basketball teams as he has for the past 18 years, garnering many championships. He enjoys working with the Navajo youth, giving them guidance and inspiration. He encourages the next generation of Navajo artists by teaching them to excel in academics and athletics while retaining their rich culture and traditional values that have sustained the Navajo in their desert homeland for centuries.
